Verdiana Wagner

Teachers should encourage kindness, courage, and curiosity in their students, along with making sure that their students are aware of important social and cultural issues within society.”

“Science is not done by scientists in a laboratory somewhere far, far away. I want each and every one of my students to have a natural curiosity about the world around them, and to realize that they are scientists, too.”

Professional Experience

While in high school, Verdiana worked as a teaching assistant for High Jump, an enrichment program for high-achieving middle school students in the Chicago Public Schools District. She enjoyed this work and began to consider a career in education.
