I found a passion helping students plan out their future paths during my work in Nicaragua and decided that I wanted to work with the same age group back at home. Since math is my strength and was my major in undergrad, I wanted to invest my time in working specifically with high school math students.”

Hannah’s Story

Teaching Discipline

Why Mathematics

“I feel like a lot of students have a ‘fear’ of math or a fixed mindset that they can never be ‘good’ at math. I want to help students relate more to math and acquire the fundamental skills needed to be able to problem solve not only in math, but in the problems they may face in the future.”

Volunteer and Professional Experience

Hannah served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua. In this role, she supported an entrepreneurship education program. Specifically, she worked with local teachers to implement an entrepreneurship curriculum that required high school seniors to create a business plan for a product or service. She also co-designed a financial education curriculum for high school juniors.

Hannah began teaching at the STEM Academy of Hollywood during the 2018–2019 school year.

Hannah enjoys cooking and is the Chopped champion of her household.
