My family has been a solid support system for me throughout my life during my unpredictable adventures. I want to be that for my students, encouraging them to explore uncharted waters.”

Kristin’s Story

Working with youth has always been a part of Kristin Frew’s life and future plans. A devoted Christian, she has traveled to Australia, India, Hong Kong and Guatemala studying the bible, working with children, and volunteering on mission trips. She has also served as a summer bible camp counselor and as a big sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

After working in the accounting department of a bank, Kristin took a position as the registrar of an elementary school in Lincoln, Neb. She fell in love with the school atmosphere and resolved to become a teacher. Kristin majored in mathematics and business management at Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Neb., where she was named Senior Mathematics Student of the Year in 2006 and graduated summa cum laude.

While in college, she tutored math and English and was shocked by the lack of a solid mathematical foundation in many students. She relished the moments when concepts suddenly became clear to them.  Kristin attended high school in the Neligh-Oakdale Public School System, where she was class valedictorian.
